The Media vs. the Pro-Life Movement

Yesterday, an estimated 200,000 people marched on the Mall in Washington in protest on the 36th anniversary of the 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court ruling. The ruling has provided legal cover for the termination of more than 50,000,000 pregnancies in the United States over the past thirty-six years.

200 people gather to protest the war in Iraq and Katie Couric is there. 200,000 march to protest abortion and they get no coverage. I think we have seen this kind of news coverage before - in North Korea, Iran, Venezuela... Maybe the next "bailout" will be for mainstream media; or perhaps more fairly a buyout to turn them into state-owned media agencies. I fear the media's job of providing an avenue to facilitate government transparency is dead for the next 8 years.

(Also, note that Obama's reversal of President Bush's ban on providing aid to foreign organizations that support abortion went without mainstream media coverage)

Whether Democrat or Republican, this should scare you. Although my guess is that those that agree with Obama will not mind that information is being supressed.
