Immigration Proposals Spur Nationwide Rallies
Headline : Immigration Proposals Spur Nationwide Rallies
Once again we see a rush to the immediacy America is so well known for when it comes to a call for protests. Big picture? What big picture? This country has to control its boarders for security. As far as I can tell this legislation still allows for legal immigration. It strikes me as odd that thousands and thousands of illegal immigrants are gathering in one location when they are here illegally. Seems like easy pickings for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. Of course, this is a problem of our own creation. Yeah, it's going to be a bit of a painful transition to get things right, but it needs to be done. It also shows how quickly people from a foreign land can buy into the "entitlement" rhetoric so pervasive in this country. I don't understand what is so difficult to understand. There are legal steps to take if you want to become a citizen of this country. If you don't want to go through the process then stay put. I someone robs a bank and doesn't get caught, should they then be entitled to ask that their illegal action be overlooked? Isn't that what we are seeing now? Someone came here illegally and now they want that to be overlooked and be given full citizenship rights. There is absolutely no logic to it. One common argument is that our economy would not survive because they do jobs that other Americans would not do for that amount of money. Would anyone care to look at the expenses they create through welfare, subsidized housing, free healthcare, free public education, etc? That's a lot of tax dollars and I would be willing to bet that not a lot of illegal immigrants are picking up their share off the tax burden to offset those costs. I think you will find that the tax money spent far exceeds the perceived increase in wages and costs. But, of course, that is the big, long-term picture and we here in America don't like that. I don't begrudge somebody the opportunity to come to this country. I just don't see why there is such a problem with doing it legally.

Yea! These are my thoughts exactly!
What is the process for legally immigrating to the US? Is it really that hard?
